New US ambassador to Bangladesh Earl Robert Miller reached Dhaka to take up his new assignment.
In a written statement from the US embassy in Dhaka, he said that he would be reaching Dhaka in Dhaka, before the appointment of US ambassador to Bangladesh, Earl Miller has been serving as US Ambassador to Botswana since 2014. When the President Donald Trump nominated Miller for the post in July, the US Senate approved his appointment on October 11.
It has been said in the statement that the senior member of United States Career Member Ambassador Millar joined the Foreign Office in 1987. Before taking responsibility for the US Ambassador to Botswana, he served as the Consul General in the United States Consulate in Johannesburg, South Africa from 2011 to 2014. He has also been serving at different levels in the US Embassy in El Salvador, Malaysia, Indonesia, Iraq and India.
